On 24th May 2026, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of timber staircases and wooden windows and doors, StairBox & Wooden Windows, swapped building materials for live music and inflatables, hosting their first charity family fun day event in support of Dougie Mac Hospice.
A long-standing supporter of the Staffordshire charity, which provides hospice services to local people with life-limiting illnesses, the event was held at Endon Cricket Club over the sunny May bank holiday weekend; attracting hundreds of families to the activities.
The day was filled with family-fun including giant inflatables, fair-ground stalls, garden games and live music with entertainment provided by local band Stepping Lane.
Craig Dagg, event organiser and facilities manager at StairBox & Wooden Windows says this event was a change from their usual corporate fundraising events, with an aim to bring fun to the local community:
“This year we wanted to do something a little different on our charity fundraising calendar. We wanted our StairBox employees to be able to take a break from the tools, raise important funds, whilst also engaging with the Staffordshire community.’
He continued, “The event was a fantastic success raising £10,000 for Dougie Mac. We couldn’t have achieved this event without the fantastic support from the venue - Endon Cricket Club - and our suppliers including KDM events.”
Due to the great turnout and feedback from visitors, StairBox is already looking at dates to hold a similar event in 2027.
Stairbox & Wooden Windows employees also took part in the Dougie Mac Moonlight Walk on 18th June, raising £612.50 meaning they were able to hand over a combined total of £10,612.50 in donations.
